Pastor Ken Templeton II

Sr. Associate Pastor, XO, Utility Infielder, building guru…and others as assigned.  I have been here at ALFC since January 1995, so 17 years.  I was a volunteer for four years overseeing small groups that we called Nehemiah Support Groups.  I came on staff full time in 1999 when I retired from the United States Navy.

My Family:
I married my best friend Pam and we are surrounded by the worlds greatest family.  Ken III and Mandah live two minuets away from us and we get to be Nana and Papa of five wonderful grandchildren, Krystal (Stitches), Kaylynne (Bug), Katrina (Kat Kat), Klaire (Bear) and now introducing Kenny IV (K4).  We also have grown children in South Carolina, and Georgia.

Where I grew up:
I grew up all over the South and Mid-West.  Born in Roanoke Virgina, I lived most of my life in Virginia, Indianapolis IN, Mt. Prospect IL, and Roswell and Lawrenceville Georgia.  My particular speech patterns make me easily recognizable.  Shalom Y’all from Warshington.

Education:
Twenty two years United States Navy as a Nuclear Reactor Operator on submarines.  I also served most of the commands I was on as the Protestant Lay Leader because submarines do not have chaplains. I also was a Washington State Certified chemical dependency counselor. I graduated from Vincennes University about five years prior to retiring from the Navy.

Favorite Books:
One I am sure seems obvious, the Bible, but I love it I really do.  If I miss a day of reading I can feel the power draining out of my life.

Hobbies:
I am a private pilot and I love to fly.  I share a Cessna Cardinal with Pastor Terry.

I love to read. I enjoy listening to music.

Football, I love to go to games and be with people who love to yell at the game or the TV set.  Sea Hawks, Falcons, Huskies, the SEC, and O’Dea

I absolutely love to spend time with friends and family, hanging out, watching a movie or a football game.

I want to learn to play the Sax
